Brand guidelines

Using The Parent Exchange logo

The spark-heart mark stands for one thing: a parent handing another parent something genuinely useful. These rules keep it recognisable everywhere it shows up — your listing covers, newsletters, pins and printables.

Guidelines version 1.0 · last updated August 2026

Dark mode

Swap to these anywhere the background is navy, near-black or a dark photo — they hold the same contrast the light set has on cream.

Do

  • Use the horizontal lockup wherever there is room; fall back to the mark alone in tight spaces.
  • Keep clear space around the lockup equal to the height of the spark inside the heart.
  • Place the light (cream) lockup on navy, terracotta or dark photography.
  • Scale proportionally — always drag from a corner, never a side handle.
  • Say your resources are “available on The Parent Exchange”.

Don't

  • Don't recolour the heart or the spark, or add gradients, glows and drop shadows.
  • Don't stretch, squash, rotate, outline or crop the mark.
  • Don't fill the spark — it must always read as the background colour showing through.
  • Don't set the lockup on a busy photo without a solid or blurred panel behind it.
  • Don't use the mark as your own shop avatar or imply the marketplace made your resource.

Clear space and minimum sizes

The Parent Exchange lockup with its minimum clear space shown as a dashed frame

The dashed frame is the minimum clear space: the height of the spark inside the heart, on all four sides. Nothing — text, borders, other logos — enters it.
